MOCA System provides mobile access control for vulnerable communities.
MOCA System, a leader in cloud-based mobile access control solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Namyangju West Hope Care Center and Happy Wing to enhance the welfare and safety of vulnerable groups in Namyangju City, South Korea. The collaboration, formalized on August 5th, is centered around the “Hope Check IN_人” project, aimed at preventing lonely deaths and establishing a crisis response system for socially isolated individuals living in permanent and national rental apartments in Dasan New Town.
This partnership aims to implement a smart welfare system that integrates advanced access control and surveillance technologies. By leveraging MOCA System’ Airfob mobile access control and Airfob Tag solutions, the initiative seeks to improve safety and accessibility for 200 single-person households.
Airfob Tag, a cutting-edge mobile access solution compatible with existing digital door locks, will enable residents to gain secure entry using their smartphones, thus reducing the risks associated with lost RFID cards or compromised passwords.
The agreement also involves creating a coordinated emergency response system that uses smart solutions to monitor and assist residents in crisis situations. This innovative approach is the first of its kind in South Korea and focuses on the smart use of CCTV and mobile access control to provide real-time safety checks, reduce repair costs for damaged front doors, and prevent tragedies like lonely deaths.
The Western Hope Care Center and Happy Wing are key partners in this endeavor. The Western Hope Care Center has a long-standing reputation for providing essential services to the elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable groups in Namyangju City, offering a range of welfare programs, including meal services, housing support, and mental health initiatives. Meanwhile, Happy Wing, a social enterprise specializing in surveillance technology and IT solutions, brings technical expertise to the project, reinforcing the center’s capacity to deliver high-quality care services.

This strategic collaboration represents a significant step towards transforming the welfare system in South Korea. It not only aims to enhance the immediate safety of isolated individuals but also to create a replicable model that can be expanded to other regions. By providing advanced, mobile-enabled access control solutions free of charge, MOCA System, along with its partners, hopes to lay the groundwork for a safer, more connected community where everyone can live with dignity and security.
